Founded in 1865, by Ezra Cornell and andrew Dickson, Cornell University is a private university with four state-supported statutory or contract colleges. It is a member of the Ivy League and the university is ranked fourth in the world in producing the largest number of graduates, who pursue PhDs at American institutions.
The University is organized into seven undergraduate colleges and seven graduate divisions. The undergraduate divisions are:
